Kannappa: A Mythological Film Hits Screens June 27

Kannappa is a big mythological movie starring Vishnu Manchu, set to release on June 27, 2025. The film is based on the story of Kannappa, a great devotee of Lord Shiva. It has a huge star cast, including Mohan Babu, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. The movie is made on a large scale and will be released in multiple languages. People are very excited about it, and it is one of the most awaited spiritual films of the year.
Just before the release, a small controversy came up. Some people from the Brahmin community felt that two comic characters, Pilaka and Gilaka, were making fun of Brahmins. These roles are played by Brahmanandam and Saptagiri. In response, the film’s dialogue writer, Akella Siva Prasad, who is a Brahmin himself, said that the film does not insult any community. He explained that the priest character in the movie, played by Mohan Babu, is shown with great respect and devotion.
Siva Prasad also said that the movie was shown to the head priests of the Sri Kalahasti temple, and they liked it and gave blessings to the team. He added that many Brahmins also worked on the film, including well-known lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry. He made it clear that no one would spend so much money and time to hurt anyone’s feelings, and he believes that once people watch the movie, they will understand the true message behind it.
The film is also very special for Vishnu Manchu because it marks the acting debut of his 7-year-old son, Avram. Vishnu shared a video showing his son on set, trying on costumes, practicing lines, and enjoying the experience. He said it was one of the most emotional moments of his life and called it a memory for a lifetime. The team hopes the audience will love the film and bless Avram as he begins his journey in acting. Kannappa aims to touch hearts with its story of faith and devotion.
