Naga Chaitanya completes filming for Custody, Venkat Prabhu bids farewell
Custody stars Naga Chaitanya, Keerthy Shetty, Arvind Swami, Sarathkumar, Priyamani, and Sampath Raj, with music by Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
After completing their upcoming film Custody, the makers have released Naga Chaitanya from Venkat Prabhu’s custody. Chay shared a new clip in which the director and crew say, “And it’s a cut. Chay, you are now released from our custody.” Chay emerges from the crowd and says, “Only to take you all into Custody on May 12th.”
Last year, Naga Chaitanya had three releases – Bangarraju, Thank You, and Laal Sing Chaddha – but only Bangarraju, which also featured his father Nagarjuna, turned out to be a hit. While Chay has had a few successful films over the years, he has yet to experience a breakthrough moment that would elevate his career to the next level. Venkat Prabhu, who has produced great comeback movies for stars like Ajith and Simbu, may be able to achieve this feat for the Telugu actor.
Custody features an ensemble cast comprising Naga Chaitanya, Keerthy Shetty, Arvind Swami, Sarathkumar, Priyamani, and Sampath Raj. The movie’s music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, while Rajeevan handles the cinematography.
From the movie’s posters and tagline “You must be the change you want to see in the world” (a quote by Mahatma Gandhi), it appears that in Custody, Naga Chaitanya plays the role of a rebel constable who is ensnared by the system.
