Sitaare Zameen Par: Trailer Out, Faces Boycott

Aamir Khan’s new movie Sitaare Zameen Par is coming to theatres on June 20, 2025. It is being called a “spiritual sequel” to his older film Taare Zameen Par, but the story is very different. In this movie, Aamir plays a basketball coach named Gulshan who gets in trouble with the law. As punishment, the court tells him to train a team of children with intellectual disabilities. The movie’s message is about accepting people for who they are, with the tagline “Sabka Apna Apna Normal,” which means “Everyone has their own kind of normal.”
The trailer shows that Gulshan is not a kind or gentle person at first. He is rude and often says the wrong things, which is the opposite of the caring teacher Aamir played in the earlier film. But as the story goes on, he learns and grows while working with the team. Genelia D’Souza plays his love interest, and ten new young actors play the kids on the team. The movie promises to be both funny and emotional, and many fans are excited to watch it.
However, not everyone is happy about the movie. Soon after the trailer came out, some people on social media started calling for a boycott. This is because Aamir Khan met Turkey’s First Lady in 2020 when he was filming in that country. Now, Turkey has shown support for Pakistan after a terrorist attack in India, and many Indians are angry. As a result, some people are protesting against the movie and also boycotting Turkish Airlines.
Even though the film shares a good message about kindness and inclusion, the boycott calls show how past actions of actors can affect public opinion. Many fans still support the movie for its heartwarming story and strong social message. The success of Sitaare Zameen Par will depend not just on how good the film is, but also on how the public reacts to the controversy.
